I’m a list-maker. Lists keep me organized, they give me goals to strive for, and they give me a sense of accomplishment. So, here’s my 2025 list and a glimpse at 2026.
In 2025:
- I stepped into the world of audiobook production. Two of my “On the Dakota Frontier” books, Proving Her Claim and Lone Tree Claim, are now available in audiobook format on several platforms. The Medicine Creek Claim audiobook will be released in early 2026.
- Farcountry Press in Helena, MT, contacted me to write a non-fiction book about actual South Dakota women homesteaders. That will consume most of 2026 for me.
- 2025 was the year I turned 70. A dozen of my close friends helped celebrate at the lake this summer. What a blast! (a word from the 1970s)
- In May, my college roommate and I joined a group of gardeners and horticulture students to tour the gardens of the UK. We cultivated some new friends, too!
- In September, Gayleen & I visited Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands. I loved Copenhagen!
- I completed two of my resolutions: skating and pottery.
- My granddaughter and I started a new tradition: monthly get-togethers for coffee, lunch, or dinner. That was the best part of the year.
As for 2026, I resolve to:
- Finish the non-fiction book.
- Publish a children’s picture book that I wrote years ago.
- Focus on relationships with friends and family.
- Garden more.
Happy New Year.
